On Friday night I popped into the Private View of Richard Wright’s new exhibition at the Modern Institute, Glasgow. There were none of his wall drawings here, but drawings on paper hung on rough brick walls and drawings made onto the pages of the paper in books. There were also piles of books on subjects such as Spirituality and Capitalism (I think). I really like his work and it is also great to see him at his opening nights. He is very approachable and happy to chat about his work. Martin Boyce was also there at the opening night. That’s what I love about Glasgow, you can goto an opening night and be in the same small tiny room as two Turner Prize winners – artists with their feet firmly on the ground. Richard was also happy for people to photograph his work. I know that Kirsty is quite interested in Richard’s work, so here it is :
